Palace Chemicals based in Speke were looking to reduce their energy bills and their carbon footprint in June 23. We held initial discussions and we provided designs so we could agree a plan for the best way forwards, taking into account their energy usage and the way the manufacturing business operates - making the best use of the roof space available and also the electrical enabling works and the new substation that was required in order to make the project happen. This meant discussions with the DNO about how and what could be done and applications for the connection agreements, which we undertook for them
We installed 804 x 505w QCell panels - making a Solar PV array size of 406kw. This will reduce the amount of energy they have to buy in by over 34% as they will be generating their own electricity on site - an estimated cost saving of over £66500 per year and the equivalent of planting 15000+ trees and 79 tonnes of CO2 - a massive plus point for a forward thinking business who want to be more environmentally friendly and to reduce their reliance on the Grid as their only soure of electricity
Palace Chemicals now stand out when they are tendering for works and can showcase this solar pv installation as part of their drive to becoming more energy efficient and help towards their Net Zero targets
