Palace Chemicals

Beesley and Fildes first came to TB Electrics in September 2022 to discuss the possibility of installing solar PV at their sawmills in Widnes. After a number of site visits and several system designs, an agreement was made and the contracts were signed. The expert TB Electrics engineers installed the system in March 2023.
In May 2023, the PV system, which consists of 600x tier-one 420W panels and 2x 110kW inverters generated just over 38MWh, which equates to an average daily yield of 1.22MWh. Some more key facts:
Our model projects a 30% reduction in energy bills, this amounts to estimated first year savings of £56,630 .
71% of all energy generated by the solar PV system is consumed by the sawmill, with 29% exported to the grid.
Over the lifetime of the system, the emissions saved equate to 9,378 trees planted or 1,044 long haul flights avoided.
Due to the energy savings provided, this system will pay for itself in 1 year, 9 months.
